MEET THE AUTHORS

With a grandmother who owned a private pre-school, a mother who taught elementary education for more than 30 years and a father who taught at the college level, perhaps it was inevitable that Jane Claire Lambert would end
up as an educator too. But Jane’s teaching gifts found an outlet closer to home. She began homeschooling her own children in 1982.

Jane’s oldest daughter, Becky, is married and has four homeschooled children
of her own and works part-time for Five in a Row as a curriculum developer like her mother. Jane’s younger daughter Carrie is the happily married mother of one daughter. She also works part-time for Five in a Row as a website designer and graphic artist. Jane’s 16+ years of teaching experience and her lifelong love of children’s literature have been combined to produce Five in a Row and Before Five in a Row.

When Jane isn’t teaching, writing or speaking, you’ll usually find her at home enjoying her grandchildren or spending time at their summer home in Michigan. Jane and her husband Steve celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary in 2009 and travel together several months each year speaking at homeschool conventions and workshops across the United States.
