Above & Beyond Five in a Row is a special product geared for students ages 12 and up. Unlike other Five in a Row products, this offering is aimed directly at the student. Having teacher participation is wonderful, but not essential. Students can take this book on their own and set off on a wonderful learning adventure in the best Five in a Row tradition--great books, fascinating lessons and exciting learning.

Those who are familiar with other Five in a Row products will find the same Five in a Row “joy of learning” packaged in a warm, user-friendly, literature-based unit study approach.

This Above and Beyond Adventure is based on the novel Hitty: Her First Hundred Years by Rachel Field. Filled with history, science, literature and much more, this delightful
book provides the gateway to a wonderful season of learning for students using the lesson plans found in Above & Beyond Five in a Row.

Two new features found in Above and Beyond are an introduction to and continuing instruction in writing a research paper, and encouragement and ideas for a community
service project.

Designed to be completed as a 6-8 week stand-alone unit study (when supplemented with math, spelling and grammar) or savored slowly over several months as a delightful learning supplement to other junior/senior high curricula.

Some creative teachers have even used Above and Beyond for a family summer project. However you choose to use this program, you will enjoy the learning and love the experience.
